  • High inflation & currency controls – saving and transacting are difficult
  • Corruption & censorship – financial freedom is often restricted
  • Weak banking system – high fees, frequent scams, and lack of trust
  • Human rights abuses – financial repression and surveillance persist
  • CBDCs are coming – increasing state control over money and privacy

Indonesia wants Bitcoin:

  • Real use case – Bitcoin is seen as a tool, not just a trend or investment
  • Grassroots movement – 36+ monthly local meetups and community-led initiatives across the country
  • Demand for education – Schools, universities, and individuals are actively seeking to learn about Bitcoin
  • Growing ecosystem – More companies, developers, and communities are building on and using Bitcoin

Why Bali?

1st Bitcoin Island: Around 2014, Bali was a “Bitcoin Island” before the Central Bank shut it down. Now, the community is bringing it back.

Creative Energy: Known for innovation, openness, and community-driven change

Global Appeal: A popular destination that attracts local leaders and international builders—blending culture, nature, and tech

Can I pay in Bitcoin?

Not directly. In accordance with Indonesian regulations, all payments must be made in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). However, by joining our Closed-Loop Community System (learn more here), you can experience how Bitcoin technology works in a private, non-public environment using the Fedi app. Here, members may deposit BTC to receive internal credits that can be redeemed for conference access and other community experiences — all within a private, invite-only setting. This is an educational and immersive way to explore Bitcoin in action.

Do I need a visa?

It depends on your nationality. Some travelers can get a Visa on Arrival, while others may need a Business Visa (especially for speakers). Please check Indonesia’s visa requirements for your country. If needed, we can assist with a Visa Agent—contact us for support.

What’s the best way to get to the venue?

Bali is served by Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS). From there, you can take a taxi, Grab, Gojek, or as a real Bitcoiner get picked up by the Sats Driver Putu, a private driver that only accepts sats and come to the venue. We’ll provide transportation details closer to the event.

Please note that traffic in Bali can get crazy! Especially if all Bitcoiners are here and enjoy the Bitcoin Indonesia Conference 2025 on Bitcoin Island.

Please use our designated parking areas:

  • P1: Sunset Paradise Canggu Hotel
  • P2: Across the street from Little Havana

Are tickets refundable?

Tickets are non-refundable, but they can be transferred to someone else.
